And the winners are...
The first ever PV Bake Off and Street Fest took place yesterday, with Portman Village’s restaurants and shops and chefs at Marylebone’s amazing hotels competing in a baking competition.
Reigning Great British Bake Off champion, Frances Quinn, led a judging panel to determine the best bakes in categories from Best Biscuit to Tastiest Cake. Entries were judged on a range of criteria, from taste and texture to innovation and appearance. The calibre of entries was high, and deciding the winners certainly wasn’t an easy task for our judges. After much deliberation our panel crowned the following winners:
Best Native Dessert
Winner: The Lockhart with a mouthwatering Lemon Iced Box Pie
Professional winner: The Grazing Goat with Vanilla and Chocolate Chunk Biscuits
Amateur winner: Zoki Couture with a selection of various shaped Kiflice
Professional winner: The Grazing Goat, unanimously with Flourless Chocolate and Almond Cake
Amateur winner: Beauty Rose with a tasty Chocolate and Coffe Cheesecake
Best Decorative Cake
Professional winner: The Hyatt, scoring 100% with a fruit cake equipped with an iced William Churchill
Amateur winner: BuyMyWardrobe for a fantastic edible version of their boutique on Seymour Place
Best Overall WINNER
The Grazing Goat
Well done to all the winners, and to everybody who took part.
